About the course

Course content

The course gives a broad and update introduction to leadership as a field of study. The academic content is based on the understanding of leadership as a complex contextual, relational, processual and emotional phenomenon. In addition to theoretical perspectives on leadership, guest lecturers provide supplementary insight into practical leadership issues in complex real-life contexts.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, group work, plenary discussions, presentations. Active participation in group and plenary activities is emphasized.

Compulsory assignments

  • Mandatory assignment
  • Oral presentation (2-3 students) of syllabus article
  • Peer assessment of the first part of the written assignment of which is defined as mandatory work assignment

Further on evaluation

Students who want to improve their grade in a course based on several assessments, may re-take the individual component assessment. For an new assessment in connection with a failing grade, the Faculty of Economics and Management has supplementary regulations.

The written exam, which counts 40% towards the final grade, consists of one written assignment. The work is carried out in groups of 2-3 students, possibly individually. The assignment includes two assignments, the first part of which is defined as a mandatory work requirement, which must be submitted within a specified deadline via Blackboard. The second submission is the actual exam to be graded on.
