This subject, Environmental monitoring with a buoy, includes:

Learning outcome

Knowledge

The student must know

  • concepts and principles within disciplines that conduct research on and development of buoys
  • regulations for the deployment of buoys

The student must have knowledge of

  • the operation of sensors for measuring various parameters
  • programming of sensors to be fitted to the buoy
  • how to build a buoy
  • marine biology
  • creativity
  • how to analyze and interpret data collected by environmental monitoring in the sea or water
  • critical thinking
  • didactic tools for planning, carrying out and assessing teaching

Learning methods and activities

The subject alternates between a theoretical and a practical approach to the subject.

  • Participation in two mandatory meetings, with a total of 5 days.
  • Written assignment

The final assessment is a portfolio assessment. The portfolio consists of a revised version of the compulsory work assignment and a report.
