Course content

The course provides knowledge about pedagogical research and development work in schools in general and the opportunity for teachers' exploration in particular. The focus is on research methods, methodologies, ethics and views of knowledge that are particularly suitable for exploring and developing teaching work in a diverse school.

The course is based on central issues in special needs educational and education for social justisce. It provides insight into educational research that sheds light on these problems in different ways. Students will learn to initiate collegial and institutional processes to strengthen the school's ability to safeguard all students' right to education, as well as analyze the results of their own projects.

Students will gain knowledge of various research designs that can form the basis for the development of their own master's projects. Emphasis will be placed on how experience-based knowledge, both own and others', can be lifted into research work in schools.

Learning methods and activities

The course is completed with three physical sessions. Forms of learning: Lectures and workshops with good opportunities for participant activity, reflections, discussions in small groups and in plenary, exercises, and guidance related to work with oral exams. There will be digital meetings focusing on students' work between sessions.

Work requirements: Participation in a group process with up to five submissions, and compulsory attendance in sessions.
