Course content
The course has these main components: Music creation understood as making and practicing music, with voice, body, instruments and digital tools, through basic experience-based training. Dance is considered part of the concept of music. The subject didactic parts of the study are in particular aimed at facilitating the students' practical work with music. Teaching materials and working methods provide students with skills, knowledge and experience that are mainly based on two of the music subject's core elements: "practicing music" and "making music".
Emne 2 er en videreføring av faglig innhold i emne 1. Emnet legger til rette for videre didaktisk og faglig utforskning av musikkskaping. I emne 2 vektlegges musikalsk elevmangfold, uformell musikalsk læring og musikkfaglig, musikkdidaktisk og digitalteknologisk utvikling i samtiden.
Learning outcome
After completing the study, the student has knowledge of
• Aesthetic and creative learning processes in music, and different approaches to progression in music teaching
• formal and informal musical learning
• musical children and youth culture, media and technology
• how music is used and integrated in different societal contexts
• various music-related technologies, and can critically evaluate these.
• curricula, theoretical perspectives and relevant research related to teaching and learning in the subject
• Music creation in interdisciplinary learning work
After completing the study, the student has skills in
• composing and improvise music with voice, musical instrument and musical technology
• facilitating learning processes in making music, composing and listening
• creating dance and be able to facilitate creative dance in music teaching
• making plans, use and evaluate varied forms of work, methods and forms of assessment that contribute to adapted music teaching
• facilitating music creation in interdisciplinary learning work
After completing the study, the student has general competence in
• planing and implementing a comprehensive teaching process and reflect on connections between goals, content and forms of assessment in the music subject
• discussing views on quality in music teaching from practical and theoretical perspectives
• raising relevant issues, examine and discuss these critically, and develop own practice with the help of professional literature
Learning methods and activities
The course music creation is a combined web-based and collection-based offer with 30 ECTS. music for 5-10, divided into 2 modules of 15 credits. each. For each of the modules, three sessions are arranged in 2-3 days per session. The collections contain practical, theoretical and exploratory work centered around various forms of music creation, where the development of and reflection on one's own practice is central. Several work requirements are covered through workshops and projects that are carried out at gatherings in combination with self-study and profession-based development work in own practice. There are also colloquium-based work requirements in music didactics.

Mandatory work requirements:
• A colloquium group report.
• Create and implement, describe and discuss a digital technological, music-creating learning program with own students, where students 'informal music knowledge is expressed as resources for students' music creation
• Didactic program in creative dance

Portfolio exam with one contribution, based on work requirement 2: Create and implement, describe and discuss a digital technological, music-creating learning program with own students
