External internship lasts for 26 weeks including participation in a two week seminar; ”Public administration and management” and ”Psychological discipline ethics and legal regulations of psychological practice”. The seminars requires 80 % obligatory attendance.Main practicewill give students the opportunity to integrate psychological theory with psychological practice, and experience how psychological theory and method can be used and adapted to the tasks of the psychologist working area.Possible internship placements are workplaces where psychological skills are applied. This may involve different types of practice such as child and adult clinical psychology, neuropsychology, family counseling, substance abuse treatment, community placements, and organizational psychology placements. Methods and theoretical challenges will therefore be very different depending on the placement. The internship will be an opportunity for learning and for developing various types of knowledge depending on the type of problem area. Although the students during the internship will practice psychological tasks under supervision, it is expected that they primarily will function on their own depending on their professional and personal prerequisites.
