Course content
The subject is a continuation of clinical subjects with a focus on the most important psychotherapeutic methods within the adult field. Psychotherapy research and the indications and effects of different psychological approaches for specific mental disorders are the subject's main theme. An introduction to the most common psychotherapeutic methods for work with adults is given. In addition to therapy-specific conditions, emphasis is placed on the importance of common factors for successful treatment. The subject will also focus on development and deepening when it comes to practical psychological skills in psychotherapy.

has in depth knowledge of mild, moderate and severe mental disorders in adults, including co-morbidity, trauma reactions, suicidality, substance abuse and addiction
has in depth knowledge of common factors, specific factors and personal factors in psychological treatment of adults
has in depth knowledge of various evidence-based treatment theories and models both for understanding mental disorders and for psychological treatment of adults.
Skills:
The student
masters relevant professional forms of expression and can reflect on different advantages and weaknesses/limitations of different forms of psychological treatment.

Learning methods and activities
Primarily lectures, but also exercises, group work and case discussions may be relevant. The subject must be seen in connection with and also builds on PSYK4604 Clinical practice 2 - adults.

Required previous knowledge
PSYK4600 must be passed.
The class will be divided into two from this semester. One group will take the two children clinic courses PSYPRO4601 and PSYPRO4602, the second group the two adult clinic courses, PSYPRO4603 and PSYPRO4604, and reverse the following semester. A student who has not passed either PSYPRO4602 or PSYPRO4603 cannot proceed until this has been passed.
