Course content

The course is a specialization within learning and skill development seen from cognitive-, biological-, social-, and developmental psychological perspectives. The focus is on developmental and learning theories from this perspectives and how this can be used to get better knowledge of how and why skills develops.The focus is on theories of development and learning and how these can be used to broaden the knowledge of how and why skills are developed and trained in areas such as reading and writing, math and motor skills. It will also be focus on both learning- and developmental disorders and expertise.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: The student has an in depth understanding of the cognitive-, biological-, social- and developmental psychological perspectives on learning and skill development.

Skills: The student can reflect over how different psychological theories can be used to practical questions related to learning and skill development. The student can find, evaluate and use information and theories within the area of learning and skill development.

General competence: The student has general competence within the field. The student can convey central subject matter as theories within the area of learning and skill development. The student can understand the relation between theories and use them in practical field.
