Course content

This course is part of the part-time, post graduate teacher training programme (FPPU). Alongside courses in pedagogy and practice, it will enable the candidate to serve as a teacher from year 5 to year 13. Guided practice is an integrated part of the programme.

This subject didactics course is common to the subjects Dance, Drama and Theater. The student shall have specialization in one of these subjects, and the choice of specialization requires that the student is assessed as qualified for the subject upon admission to the study program.

The course covers all aspects of teaching and students' learning within the subjects. Learning consists of both cognitive and affective factors, such as motivation, attitudes, identity and emotions. The course provides a basis for planning, implementing, assessing and reflecting upon teaching, based on research- and experience-based knowledge and theory. The learning aims for this course also include being able to analyse and see connections between a variety of perspectives, theories and research studies. Knowledge and insight into subject-didactic theory and research provides the competence needed to improve own practice and the school's activities, and to carry out systematic research and development work in school.

Teaching sessions will be varied and with exemplary working methods. There will be teaching both in the form of large and smaller groups with or without teacher guidance. Cross-curricular work will also be in focus through a group-based Research and Development project (R&D), including a process report. The R&D project will be executed in one of the student's two subject-didactical courses.
