Course content
This course will focus on contemporary research topics, questions and methods that are relevant to the research field of political science, and these will be described and defined in each course. Topic and lecturers will vary accordingly. Participants are supposed to write a paper within the realm of the course content, which however also could be linked up with the participants’ individual ph.d.-project.
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
The candidate has advanced knowledge, and is in the forefront of the course content and its body of knowledge.
Skills:
The candidate can formulate relevant research questions, and manage complex academic issues in relation to the topic of the course.
General competence:
The candidate can carry out his/her research with scholarly integrity, and use an independent and critical approach to own and others research.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, seminars and discussions. The course may be taught in either Nordic language or English. The course is offered when teaching resources are available and can be changed or cancelled if less than 5 ph.d.-candidates are registered.
Further on evaluation
Paper within the realm of the course content. Participation and related activities are compulsory.
An identical version of the exam paper cannot be used directly in the ph.d.-thesis as an article or a chapter. A revised version of the exam paper may be included in the thesis.
Required previous knowledge
Master's degree in Political Science or equivalent.
