Course content

This course builds on the foundation provided by POL1002 and gives greater and more detailed attention to central concepts and theories in the field of public policy. The course focuses on the development and implementation of public policy, as well as the consequenses and analysis of public policy. The topics covered are exemplified through select policy areas.

Learning outcome

Knowledge - the student shall:

  • have knowledge about the formation and implementation of public policy

Skills - the student shall demonstrate the ability to:

  • use the central theories and approaches to analyze current issues in the area of public policy and administration

Learning methods and activities

4 hours of lectures per week in the first half of the semester.
