Course content
The course requires significant independent study. Individual instruction includes instrumental skills with an emphasis on improvisation. The ensemble instruction includes repertoire development, practice in improvisation, conducting, and technique. A substantial part of the ensemble instruction will be student guided and individualised. During the course the student will receive relevant studio training.

Knowledge:
The candidate:
- Has knowledge about and controls relevant techniques in interpretation and practicing.
- Has knowledge about musical performance preparations and how to prevent body strain damages
Skills:
The candidate:
- Has instrumental/vocal skills on a level that makes him/her able to carry out their artistic intentions
- Can work goal-oriented and independent, alone and together with others.
- Takes initiative to play in ensembles, and shows ability to musical communication.
- Has skills in improvisation.
Learning methods and activities
- Individual instruction: one lesson a week for 24 weeks.
- Group instruction - up to 44 lessons in total for ensemble projects, provided in concentrated periods during the academic year.
- Project - various forms of instruction. Participation in projects, seminars and concerts is compulsory.
Undervisningen er obligatorisk, og krever minimum 80 % oppmøte.

The length of the examination concert is 30 minutes. If two or more students play in an ensemble, the length of the examination concert is 45 minutes.

Requires passed MUSP4321 or corresponding course.
