Course content

This course consists of work with the master thesis. With supervision, the student designs and carries out a research project that is documented through the written master thesis. The topic of the thesis is decided by the student together with the student's supervisor. An important part of the work is to aquire insight into literature relevant for the thesis, and thus the course material will be individual.

  • can comprehend the literature relevant for conducting research within a specific area of science education

Mandatory activities

Supervision is mandatory in the work on the master's thesis and is carried out in consultation with the appointed supervisor.

Attendance at seminars.

Oral presentation of the master project. Assessed as approved or not approved.

Compulsory activities must be approved before the master thesis can be submitted for assessment.

Assessment

The master thesis is assessed with a letter grade A-F.

The thesis is normally an indvidual work, but may be a joint work by two students. When the thesis is a joint work a description of the two students' contributions shall be provided in or with the thesis. When the master's thesis is submitted as a joint project, a joint grade is normally given for the thesis. In rare cases, however, it may be relevant to assess the candidates differently.

- Fulfilled Science 1 and Science 2 (in sum 60 ECTS)

- Fulfilled the R&D-project in the third year of the study program
