Course content

The subject Pedagogy and student knowledge 1 will give the student insight into the teacher's role in the students' learning. Central to the subject is competence in the teacher's facilitation of learning and planning of teaching. Through active participation in the teaching, the students must develop didactic competence with an eye to the pupils' learning and motivation. Competence in planning, carrying out and assessing teaching becomes essential here. The students will build up research-based knowledge about, among other things, classroom management, motivation, assessment for learning, aesthetics and observation as a method. In the work on these topics, a clear link to the field of practice is emphasized, and discussion is facilitated in connection with linking theory and practice.

Learning methods and activities

In the subject, emphasis is placed on teaching with a large degree of student activity and variation in working methods. Much of the work takes place as group work with some support of digital tools in the learning process. Emphasis will be placed throughout on connection to the field of practice both as a field of study and as an arena for professional development and professional practice.
