Course content
Course 1 physical education 1-7 shall together with course 2 qualify for teaching physical education from 1-7th grade in primary school. The teaching is based on physical education as a general education subject and must be linked to the field of practice. The student will acquire knowledge of and experience with teaching in various movement environments and activities that are relevant. The didactics in the course is based on a practical approach, where knowledge of what promotes physical learning and the joy of movement in all students is central.

- has knowledge of the relevance and central values physical education, uniqueness and legitimacy as well as connection to other school subjects
- has knowledge of what can promote joy of movement in physical education for students in grades 1-7
- has knowledge of teaching planning, implementation and evaluation in physical education
- has knowledge of various games and movement activities in children and youth culture
- has knowledge of prerequisites for learning on the basis of growth and development in the student at grade 1-7
SKILLS
Candidates
- can plan, implement and evaluate teaching in physical education based on legislation, current curriculum and professional ethics guidelines
- can facilitate learning work that can promote joy of movement in play and varied forms of movement
- can facilitate and carry out learning work in outdoor activities and nature travel
- can develop and use own skills and knowledge in varied movement activities with a view to teaching physical education
- can identify hazards and ensure students' safety in various activities and environments
- can facilitate learning in swimming at grade 1-7 and perform first aid and lifesaving in water
- can include the basic skills in teaching on the subject's premises
