Course content

In semester 2D the teaching includes the following topics: obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, endocrinology, nephrology, urology, radiology/imaging, global health, infectious diseases and microbiology, pharmacology and pathology.

The teaching is organized in thematic weeks. Lectures, clinics, seminars and courses are given on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Clinical teaching and PBL (problem based learning) are given on Wednesdays and Thursdays. In addition to the respective clinical departments, other departments and institutes are also involved in the teaching.

This course is common to the students in Trondheim and in the study program Link and has the same academic content, learning goals and exam. The Link students, however, have their study base in Levanger.

The students who do not pass the exam will have to resit only the part of the exam they did not pass, i.e. either the oral or the written exam (or both).

PBL and clinical rotation is mandatory. Maximum 15 % absence from this teaching is allowed. The teaching language will be English.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Medical studies (CMED)

Required previous knowledge

Admission to CMED and successfully completed 3 year of medical school (MD4030 or MD4031).
