About the course

Course content

The course will be offered at irregular intervals and will deal with specific issues and methods which, for various reasons, are particularly relevant within teaching profession and school research.

Theme, approach and course coordinator may vary. A separate course description will be created for each time a specific theme is offered within the framework of this course code. The course may take place in autumn and/or spring, but only after special announcement. Participants in the course are required to write an individual assignment related to the specific course theme, which they also can relate to their own PhD project. The students may be required/expected to make use of their own empirical material in the coursework or individual assignment.

Compulsory activities

Seminar attendance, presentations and active participation in discussions are required to pass the course.

Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.

Compulsory assignments

  • Participation: presentations and discussions

Further on evaluation

The exam is an individual assignment of 4,500-5,000 words on a freely chosen topic within the course theme, and which may (but not necessarily) build a bridge to one's own PhD thesis.

Text submitted for assessment in the required academic coursework may be included in the thesis in revised form.

For a retake of a failed exam, the candidate can submit a revised version of a previously submitted text in the course. If the submission is a revised version of a previously submitted text, this must be clarified in the text.
