The course includes 10 hours of supervision including preparation and supplementary work. (This is in addition to ordinary supervision). The course is to have the following contents: - Approved individual study syllabus (approx. 400 pages). - Completed supervision - 10 hours, individually or in a group of candidates working on the same topic or research problem. - The candidate hands in a written assignment accounting for the research topics discussed between the supervisor and candidate. The form, scope and level of the written assignment is described in the submission form (available on the Department website). - The candidate delivers a presentation of the written assignment in an academic forum approved by the supervisor. Course registration is done via Studentweb, but also requires that the PhD candidate personally establish contact with a potential academic supervisor at the Department of Teacher Education. An agreement will be made between the candidate and the supervisor on a separate form for individual study syllabus available from the Department. The course is reserved for PhD candidates in the subject focus on Teacher Profession and School Research at the Faculty's PhD programme in Educational Sciences.
