Course content

The course consists of a work placement in a company / institution where students will participate in activities and lay the foundations for a research- / knowledge-based assignment / assessment. The data or knowledge acquisition is associated with the institution. The contents will vary depending on the institution's needs, wishes and goals. The course will result in a delivery to the placement institutions, for instance a seminar, a power-point presentation or a report, and an oral presentation of this for sensor, supervisor at STS/KULT in a digital webinar.

Learning outcome

KNOWLEDGE:

A candidate:

  • Has knowledge of the organization, objectives and working methods within the company/institution concerned, and about the problem that will be highlighted through the internship and the subsequent master's thesis.
  • Can perspective this using advanced STS-theory

SKILLS:

A candidate:

  • Has experience in problem definition/demarcation and design for a research/investigation project

Learning methods and activities

Participation in the institution's work, collecting data. The internship will normally last for three to six weeks á four days, depending on whether the company wants the student to be there full or part time. (It can be applied for adaptation to this requirement if the institution has other wishes)

  • Participation in a webinar/seminar workshop on campus
  • Oral presentation

  • A delivery that documents the work, a PowerPoint Presentation, podcast, webpage, a seminar/workshop report or similar products.
  • Participation in seminars at campus
  • Oral presentation of the delivery (webinar)

Students' delivery to practice partners are to be documented in a webinar. The assignment and presentation is evaluated as pass or not passed.
