Course content

The study comprises the following two parts: Greek history from antiquity until the present and Literature: Masterpieces of Modern Greek literature: from Romanticism until the present. Focus on poetry, novels and short prose from 19th century up until today. Texts will be read in English translations. English lectures.

Learning outcome

The course gives a comprehensive overview of the history and literature of Modern Greece.

Learning methods and activities

2 double lectures per week during 7 weeks.

Required previous knowledge

It is not necessary to have completed GRE1101 in advance.
