Course content
This course will be taught every year, starting in fall 2008.
Advanced topics on information retrieval, including text and multimedia information:
- Information retrieval (IR) within specialised search environment (e.g., bioninformatics).
- Different models for IR systems, www search tools
- Indexing and retrieval of semi-structured data, e.g., XML
- Indexing and retrieval of multimedia information

The students is aimed at learning and undestand the principles, techniques and methods behind advanced information retrieval
