Examination arrangement
Course content
The course is adapted to the individual student's needs and his/her masters thesis. In the fall semester, the course will normally consist of theoretical modules offered in conjunction to the depth study courses in the technology programme.

If taken in the spring, the course is a self study constructed in dialogue with the supervisor. This is for students not able to do this in the autumn in parallel with the preparatory project.
Learning outcome
Insight into advanced research in various areas of informatics.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, colloquia, presentations etc. depending on the actual content of the course. The autumn version of the course is organized as combination of two electable modules with separate teaching. Some modules will have oral exams and others will have graded assignments. In the Spring semester the course is based on selfstudy on an assigned curriculum with oral exam.
Further on evaluation
Students have to pass both theorethical modules in order to pass the course. Retake of the exam for one or both modules that fail.
If a student wants to retake the course the whole course need to be done.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Informatics (MSIT)
Natural Science with Teacher Education, years 8 - 13 (MLREAL)
Required previous knowledge
This course is awailable to exchange students upon request and by instructor's conscent.
