Course content
A review of financial analysis of accounting information is provided with key figure calculations for assessing profitability and financing. We see how spreadsheets can be used as tools for financial support, financial analysis and reporting in companies. The course is based on theory covered in the course Economic Management and Accounting (7.5 credits). The project in the course will give the candidates training in writing a relatively comprehensive financial report. The course provides a thorough introduction to the use of spreadsheets (Excel). Best practices for developing spreadsheets, the most important functions for financial analysis in Excel, and pivot objects and reports are reviewed. Furthermore, an introduction to microeconomic analysis is given.

The candidate can:
- Read and understand economic analyzes.
- Select current analyzes and reports based on a specific issue (case).
- Demonstrate insight into the basic principles of microeconomic analysis
- Explain how spreadsheets should be built and structured to achieve user-friendly, maintenance-friendly and as error-free solutions as possible.
- Explain the function of key objects in Excel.

The candidate can:
- Conduct an analysis of a company's profitability and financing based on accounting information
- Explain the adaptation of consumers and companies in a market
- Explain different market forms
- Use spreadsheets in practical financial management in a project or in an organization
- Use spreadsheets as a tool to structure theories and models from financial management and accounting.
- Use spreadsheets as a tool for managing finances and project work.

- Use the most important financial features in spreadsheets
- Import and export data to and from the spreadsheetUse pivot tables to generate reports
- Automate tasks by recording macros.
General competence
Candidates:
- Has a conscious relationship to quality assurance of spreadsheets and testing of such.
- Can connect microeconomic theory to the individual business.
Learning methods and activities
The teaching of the course consists of lectures and practical problem solving. Teaching will be in the form of video lectures / lessons / webinars. It is planned that the students will apply the competence they acquire in compulsory exercises and in the implementation of a larger project.

Mandatory work requirements: Exercises are delivered individually. All exercises must be approved to have the project delivered and evaluated.
Project: Delivered individually or in groups of up to two.
Individual assessment of the project can be given.
In the event of voluntary repetition, fail (F) or valid absence, the project must be retaken in a semester with teaching.
