This course is about ICT in learning. The aim is to make teachers able to use ICT tools in their own teaching.

The subjects are:

  • ICT in learning theories
  • Use of open learning resources
  • Formative assessment with multiple choice tests
  • Pedagogical use of video
  • Use of online tools in teaching

All these topics are in a pedagogical context based on fundamental pedagogical theories.

Learning outcome

The candidate has achieved the following learning outcomes on KNOWLEDGE:

  • Reflect on how ICT can be used in courses
  • Explain how ICT can be used effectively in formative assessment
  • Knowledge on various publication options and formats

The candidate has achieved the following learning outcomes on APPLICATION:

  • Produce videos for use in a pedagogical context.
  • Find and reuse open educational resources (OER)
  • Make use of synchronous and asynchronous collaborative tools.
  • Develop multiple choice tests used formatively

The candidate has achieved the following learning outcomes on GENERAL COMPETENCE:

  • Evaluate the quality of ICT in your own teaching
  • Awareness on how use of ICT and new technology can lead to changes for learning, assessment and teaching.
  • Able to use ICT pedagogically and didactically and discuss ICT to well known pedagogical theories and models.

Learning methods and activities

Online study. The students will work with videos and texts. The students shall perform peer assessment, participate in discussion forums, answer multiple choice tests, produce videos and more.
