About the course
Course content
The course applies to students of the 2-year and 5-year Master program in Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Design who will work in the model workshop during their studies. The course focuses on HSE (health, safety and environment) for students and gives an introduction to risks associated with the use of workshop machinery as well as routines and handling of tools at the workshop. The course consists of two parts. Part 1: Obligatory program-based practical training at the workshop. The practical training must be completed in order to take the second part of the course. Part 2: Theoretical health and safety course.
Learning outcome
Students shall have the necessary knowledge about HSE to ensure their own and other people's safety during their study at NTNU. This includes knowledge of the HSE-concept, objectives for the HSE work and how to behave safely in workshops. NTNU's goal is that all students and employees should have a safe workplace.
Learning methods and activities
Part 1: Students will learn basic knowledge of health and safety in the workshop based on demonstrations and practical exercises. Practical training is held in the workshop at Gløshaugen.
Part 2: The theoretical part of HSE will consist of general principles of health, safety and environment in the workshop and building site. The course will take place either as an online course or lectures.
