Course content
This is a theme specialization, which emphasizes the use of recognized scientific methods for specialization in a limited subject relevant to aging and the health of older people.
Current topics are:
- search for research literature
- development of problem
- research-based task writing
Learning outcome
The student will (after completion of the course):
Knowledge
- Have specialized insights into a limited self-chosen topic relevant to aging and elderly health
Skills
- Be able to analyze and relate critically to different sources of information - Be able to apply research literature to structure and formulate relevant academic reasoning and disseminate them in a scientific way
Competence
- Plan, conduct and independently report a scientific work on a well-defined problem within aging and the health of older people who are covered with research literature
Learning methods and activities
Specialization course with lectures, home assignments and seminars.

Further on evaluation
Written individual submission of a scientific work. Submission of project sketch in early semester. Deadlines for submission and approval of project sketch will be given at the start of the semester. On the basis of feedback from subject supervisors, the student must continue to work on a self-selected subject and submit a completed written individual submission at the end of the semester.
Compulsory activity must be approved in order to be able to take the exam in the subject.
Written individual submission of a scientific work, approx 15 pages, excluded ref and appendix (12 pkt Times Roman, 1.5 line space). Requirements are set for scientific writing in accordance with criteria given in a paper.
Re-sit examination are held for candidates with a valid absence or the result "not passed".
Students with an approved compulsory activity do not need to complete this again if re-sitting the exam.
