Course content
The aim of the course is to ensure that students who complete an exchange period in the 4th semester still meet academic and skills requirements. The content of the course is based on academic content and training in the courses Medical laboratory technology: Histological and immunological techniques and cytology (HBIOT2024), Quality assurance, method validation and statistics (HBIOT2025) and Transfusion medicine (HBIOT2026). Included topics are adapted to the individual student's approved exchange plan. A specified plan, including academic content, learning activities, work requirements and literature, are prepared for each individual student who is to complete an approved exchange stay in their 4th semester. The course requirements are approved by the course coordinator in consultation with the course coordinator in the included courses.
Learning outcome
Learning outcomes are based on knowledge, skills and general competence from the courses Medical Laboratory Technology: Histological and Immunological Techniques and Cytology (HBIOT2024), Quality Assurance, Method Validation and Statistics (HBIOT2025) and Transfusion Medicine (HBIOT2026). The outcomes are adapted based on what the individual student completes at NTNU and which courses the student completes and gets incorporated into his / her course of study, from a partner university.

Required previous knowledge
The course is restricted and reserved for students at the Bachelor of Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, NTNU, Trondheim. Examination in HBIOT1010, Medical laboratory technology - Mandatory introduction course, must be passed in order to be elligeble.
