Course content
- Projections and coordinate systems, distances, areas, geoid, ellipsoid, web-Mercator
- Geodetic basis for surveying and mapping
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Collection and presentation of geographic information
- Basic calculations of coordinates and heights
- Leveling hights
- Surveying with total stations
- Satellite surveying by RTK
- Basic laserscanning
- Reports writing
- Types of error, their recognition, and prevention possibilities
- Standard deviation, the mean (average), normal dstribution
Learning outcome
Knowledge
- Explain how Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are used to solve practical issues
- apply basic land survey methods
- Perform manual calculations of coordinates and heights, accuracy calculation
- prepare documentation and understand the standards

- Perform import and export of data in a GIS
- master how maps and features are connected
- master how geographic data is presented
- work with current measuring instruments
