Course content

You get an introduction to aviation and the history of aviation. You will also be introduced to professional terminology and relevant regulations. Introduction to aircraft mechanics and physics, overall overview of aircraft systems and aircraft parts are also included in the course.

Learning outcome

Knowledge:

  • The candidate can outline the main features of the history and technological development of aviation technology. They have also discussed the role of an aeronautical engineer in society and the consequences of technology development and use.
  • The candidate can explain the functioning of aircraft in general and describe the technical principles and procedures for operation, maintenance, and repair of aircraft, including troubleshooting and inspection of systems, components, and structures.

Skills:

  • The candidate demonstrate basic knowledge in mathematics, natural sciences, relevant social and economic subjects, and apply these in problem-solving related to aircraft.
  • The candidate contributes to innovation and entrepreneurship by participating in the development and realization of sustainable and socially beneficial products, systems, and solutions.

General Competence:

  • The candidate shows insight into the environmental, health, social, and economic consequences of products and solutions within the field of aircraft maintenance. They are trained to discuss these aspects from an ethical and life cycle perspective.
  • The candidate reflects on their professional practice, both individually and in teams and interdisciplinary contexts, and can adapt it to current work situations.
