Course content

Categorisation in industries and niches. Market development in industries and niches nationally and internationally. State of digitalization in industries and niches.

Learning outcome

Knowledge

The candidate shall:

  • Have knowledge about different industries and niches
  • Have knowledge about market development in industries and niches in Norway and internationally
  • Have knowledge about state of digitalization within different industries and niches in Norway and internationally
  • Have in-depth knowledge about market development and digitalization in one industry and niche
  • Be able to discuss and evaluate future developments related to digitalization in one industry and niche
  • Be able to discuss and evaluate state of digitalization in one industry and niche with respect to sustainability

Skills

The candidate shall:

  • Be able to find relevant information sources to identify development features for industries and niches nationally and internationally
  • Be able to develop a report that provides both systematic overview over development features for markets and state of digitalization, as well as discussing future developments

General competencies

The candidate shall:

  • Be able to convey scientific material both in writing and orally
  • Contribute to the understanding of industries with respect to digitalization and use of digital systems
  • Be critical to different information sources and use them in an appropriate manner

Learning methods and activities

Project-based work. Workshops with student activities.

Further on evaluation

Evaluation of assignment where the students decide for themselves which industry and niche to study.

Five mandatory workshops. Candidates must participate in mandatory activities to be allowed to deliver the assignment.

In the event of voluntary repetition, fail (F) or valid absence for the assignment, the entire assignment must be retaken in a semester with teaching.
