Course content
The course provides students with knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, and especially with digital entrepreneurship. Students gain knowledge and skills related to factors for success in digital entrepreneurship, and the development of digital products and services. What characterizes good business ideas and how to refine these to exploit potential market opportunities? The students will gain insight into all the phases related to start-up activities, from the idea and anchoring this in a business plan to financing and commercialization based on the Lean Startup methodology. Students also gain an insight into leadership in start-up businesses. The course is arranged around 6 sessions during the semester with different themes and approaches that are relevant to illustrate digital entrepreneurship

Knowledge
The candidate must:
- be able to explain digital entrepreneurship and other forms of entrepreneurship.
- be able to explain the framework conditions and opportunities that affect digital entrepreneurship.
- be able to explain what a business idea is and how digital services and products are developed.
- be able to describe the content and main elements of a business plan.
- be able to explain different sources of start-up financing, as well as the advantages and disadvantages associated with these.
- be able to explain different management strategies in start-up companies.
Skills
The candidate must:
- be able to identify commercial needs and develop promising business ideas with digital products and services.
- be able to decide whether a business idea is achievable.
- be able to prepare a business plan.
- be able to present a business idea and business plan.
- be able to manage entrepreneurial processes in start-ups.
- be able to apply the principles of Lean Startup.
General competence
The candidate must:
- understand the importance of digital entrepreneurship in a societal and sustainability context.
Learning methods and activities
The teaching activities in the course are a combination of lectures, guest lectures, compulsory group activities and presentations with various topics related to digital entrepreneurship.
Further on evaluation
Assessment method: Portfolio assessments provides a basis for the final grade in the course, which is assessed as passed/failed. The portfolios includes 6 group-based tasks and 6 individual tasks. Feedback is given during the semester on the contents of the folders. In the event of voluntary repetition, failed or valid absence, both folders must be taken again at the next completion of the course.
