Course content
The course Language and language didactics contains the linguistic part of the Norwegian L1 subject, and it aims to strengthen the candidates teaching competence in and about language. The course contains topics which provide solid linguistic and language didactic knowledge and skills, and a critical awareness of language teaching, language politics, and linguistic issues in school and society. Main topics include language variation and change, grammar and grammar didactics, multilingualism and language learning, oracy and interaction. These topics will be discussed from different theoretical and didactic perspectives, and analysed in a diachronic and contemporary context.
