Course content
The Bachelor's thesis is carried out within the course's subject areas and according to the bachelor's manual. Identify, formulate and solve relevant problems in the construction engineer's field of work. Utilize knowledge and skills from several subject areas in the study, as well as make independent study where necessary. Contribute to research and develop the subject area. Acquire skills in project management in planning, implementation and documentation of a project work in a group.

General competence - The candidate
- conveys professional knowledge to different target groups both in writing and orally in Norwegian and English have insight into scientific honesty and understanding of ethical issues
- have insight into the environmental, health, societal and economic consequences of products and solutions within their field and can put these in an ethical perspective and a life cycle perspective
- integrates previously acquired knowledge and is able to acquire new knowledge in solving a problem
Learning methods and activities
The working form is as described in the bachelor's manual and is an independent student-driven project work in which process and results should be shared digitally. Outreach activities, data collection, literature studies etc. will be required in connection with the task solution. The project will be managed (administered) and regular meetings will be held between the group, supervisor (s) and client, where work and progress are discussed.

Required activities
- Pre-project plan.
- Documentation of the worker process should include status reports, meeting requests, meeting minutes, and timesheets.
- Oral presentation in English during the process.
- Preparation of records (poster) either in the final or during the process.
- Oral presentation of the submitted bachelor's thesis.

Deadline for submission is 20th of May 12:00 each year. In case 20th of May follows on a weekend, the deadline will be on the following working day.

Recommended previous knowledge
150 ECTS from Bachelor in Civil Engineering
Required previous knowledge
To start on the bachelor's thesis, the student must have passed a minimum of 110 credits out of 120 study-planned credits from the first two years of the education. In addition, all compulsory courses and courses that are included in the study plan, but which are not credit-bearing, must be approved in order to start the bachelor thesis.
