Knowledge
The candidate should:
- have fundamental knowledge in railway track alignment, geometry design and railway planning.
- have basic knowledge of components and its functionality in railway infrastructure.
- have fundamental knowledge in designing a well functional and sustainable railway infrastructure
- understand how rolling stocks interact with railway track
Skills
The candidate should be able to:
- apply correct railway track alignment.
- plan and design railway track.
- select correct components for track superstructure, substructure and catenary system.
- select and calculate structural gauge of railway infrastructure.
- design a stable railway track in all 3 directions, longitudinally, vertically and laterally.
General competence
The candidate should be able to:
- apply railway track engineering knowledge with confident
- communicate with professional railway terminology independently
- apply railway engineering in research and development as well as relevant advanced assignments.
- contribute to railway engineering field both locally and internationally.

The exam is a digital school exam.
80% exercises must be approved before the student is eligible for the exam. Attendance at the gatherings is mandatory. In case of a re-sit exam the exam will most likely be a digital school exam, but it might be changed to an oral exam depending on the number of candidates.
