Course content
An actual case or other agreed development tasks in groups or individually. The student will be responsible for determining the direction and the subject of the case. The case or task must have a problem that the student (s) should answer. The content may, for example, include:
- Development or testing of a problem (theoretical, theoretical/practical).
- To create and establish an intelligent model of an existing or unmodified building or facility, taking into account the entire life of the building or plant (planning, engineering, execution, management, operation and maintenance)
- Theoretical tasks such as the establishment of BIM strategies in own organisation, development of own BIM manuals
- The theme may be linked to your own work situation or workplace. Subject choices must be approved by the course coordinator.
Note: The selection of topic for the assignment is prepared during the semester before it is to be carried out with guidance from the course coordinator.
Learning outcome
The course concludes the study program and is to integrate important parts of the program's academic content. The student should after completed capability could display the following knowledge, skills and general expertise: Knowledge: - Understanding methodical project work and report writing - Good theoretical and practical understanding BIM Skills: - Ability to independently plan and execute BIM projects - Apply theoretical BIM subject material in combination with the practical use of software General competence: - Good ability to apply knowledge and skills on an independent view by demonstrating the ability to cooperate, their capacity for reflection and critical thinking - Understanding methodical work, their capacity for reflection and ability to scientific assessment. - The student should demonstrate the ability to prepare a BIM problem and implement a practical project solution. After completed task, the student should have the skills to conduct a smaller, independent BIM project or as a participant in major BIM projects together with other professionals.
Learning methods and activities
Net-based project based on a conference together with supervision. The assignment can be done either as group work or individually.
Mandatory requirements:
- A case description for the chosen case study is to be delivered for approval by the course supervisor. (See additional information below.)
- Final presentation of the completed assignment.
Further on evaluation
If fail: Continuation by agreement with the Course Superviser
Assessment form: Case report with models. The case is to be presented orally at a plenary session at the final study conference, and is to be supported by a detailed report. A single combined grading will be given.
