The following topics may be given: - The building process - Project design management - Front end management - Building contracts - Risk and uncertainty in projects - Organising projects - Cost engineering and analyses - Life cycle analyses - Production technology in building and construction - Productivity in building and construction - Rock blasting technique - Tunneling

Learning outcome

The course will give an in-depth study of a topic closely related to the PhD topic of each student. The teaching methods are partly focused on generating new knowledge within the selected topic. Knowledge: The candidate shall have knowledge of a subject within project mangement and construction engineering at an international level. The candidate shall be able to evaluate and apply various methods within the research area, and to contribute to the development of new theories and methods in the field of research. Skills: Candidates shall master the theory and use of measurement and evaluation methods used in the field. The candidate should be able to use these skills to undertake research at an international level. The candidate should be able to assess the work of others on the same level. General competence: The candidate should be able to use knowledge from the discipline in scientific tasks and projects, and disseminate research and development through acknowledged national and international channels.
