About the course

Course content

Overall goal of the subject:

The main aim of the course is to provide an introduction to economics, administration and management subjects, as well as insight into how topics are interrelated. Through the course, students will develop analytical skills to apply theoretical knowledge to practical and realistic situations, which they build on in other subjects, as well as relevant skills in business.

Learning outcome

Learning outcomes:

  • Apply knowledge of key concepts, theories and models in the field of organisation and management, and how these are interrelated
  • Be able to work both independently and in groups with theoretically and practically orientated analysis and problem solving
  • Be able to communicate in writing based on theory and specific challenges in organisations, to a broad audience
  • Be able to identify problems in an organisation
  • Be able to analyse issues in a reflective and independent manner

Learning methods and activities

The course is based on lectures, group work, assignments and plenary discussions

Mandatory activities:

  • Group assignment. Under special circumstances students may submit individually.

Further on evaluation

4 hours individual written school exam. Examination aids will be published at the start of the semester. Previously approved mandatory assignments from the last two academic years are valid for later examination attempts.
