About the course

Course content

The course will give knowledge on real estate development, the underlying strategic thinking and the recognition of planning as a basis for the development.
The course content:
- Real estate development and urban planning
- Land use (residental and business)
- Location theory
- Market and development appraisal
- Real estate portfolio
- Real estate development processes and agreements

Weight will be on planning premisses, marked analyzes and feasability studies.

Learning outcome

After the course the student should be able to know the most important elements in development and implementation of real estate development projects.The student will have knowledge about real estate development and planning, land use, location theory and economic and market assessment of real estate project, the most important actors and how real estate development projects are implemented. The student will have basic knowledge about easy to use tools related to calculations, risk and process execution that can be applied in different phases of real estate development.
The student shall learn how to plan and execute a real estate development process, and will be able to perform basic analysis of the projects' critical framework, which demands to process, profitability and risk profile.
This course will provide students with basic knowledge of real estate development, including understanding of the various stages of development. With this type of competence the student should on an independent basis be able to work with property development projects.
