Classical Civilizations and Classical Studies - Bachelor's Programme
The programme of study offers comprehensive knowledge of ancient Greek and Roman cultures, including instruction in Greek and Latin. Additionally, students are trained to critically analyse classical antiquity and to understand the significance of ancient Greek and Roman cultures throughout history. This encompasses the study of history, mythology, religion, rhetoric, literature, politics, and daily life.
The bachelor's programme in Classical Civilizations and Classical Studies gives you knowledge about Latin and/or Greek, and about classical culture: History, mythology, religion and rhetoric. You will acquire skills in critically analyzing sources from the antiquity period, and insights into the relevance of Greek-Roman culture throughout the ages.
The language of instruction in this programme is Norwegian
You have to meet the Norwegian language requirements, or have a Scandinavian language as your mother tongue, if you want to apply to any of NTNU’s degree programmes taught in Norwegian.
You also must meet the basic requirement for admission, and demonstrate that you meet the English language requirements.
The application deadline for the programme is April 15th. Students apply through Samordna Opptak.
Note that the deadline is March 1st for all applicants with a Norwegian or Nordic Citizenship and an education background from a country outside the Nordics.
The faculty of Humanities offer a wide range of courses taught in English in our various fields of studies, both at bachelor's and master's level.
