Film Studies - One-Year Programme

The one-year programme in film studies gives you insight into the history and theory of moving pictures, and how audiovisual media, such as film, forms people and the society they live in. You will attain critical understanding of both older and modern film culture, and learn to analyse and interpret audiovisual forms of expression.

The academic environment at NTNU stands strong within Norwegian film research, especially in Norwegian film history, early film, documentary, film theory, and new media.

Admission and contact

The language of instruction in this programme is Norwegian

You have to meet the Norwegian language requirements, or have a Scandinavian language as your mother tongue, if you want to apply to any of NTNU’s degree programmes taught in Norwegian.

You must also meet the basic requirement for admission, and demonstrate that you meet the English language requirements.

The application deadline for the programme is April 15th. Students apply through Samordna Opptak.
