Reseach group for clinical adult psychology

The research group's field of interest is broad, but the overarching, central themes are understanding, prevention and treatment of mental health and disorders, treatment approaches in the age range from youth to adults, and across service levels. There is a special focus on psychotherapy that embraces anxiety and depressive disorders, but also other mental disorders both in relation to individual and group treatment.

The research group has specific expertise on depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder, but the interests also span other disorders as well as personality and personality disorders. In addition to treatment, the topic of developing therapeutic skills is of importance. The group is also concerned with research into the health services, their importance and whether their organization is important, the application of new technology in the treatment of mental disorders, the importance of physical activity, as well as mental disorders and work.

The research group runs the Psychological outpatient clinic for adults at the Department of Psychology, with responsibility for the education of psychology students, and collaborates closely with treatment institutions both in the local area at St. Olavs Hospital and Nidaros, as well as Tiller DPS and other treatment institutions nationally.

The group has extensive national and international research collaboration.
