OceanLab - communication and e-infrastructure
Wireless communication and e-infrastructure technologies will serve the nodes of OceanLab. In addition they will constitute facilities for research on the technologies themselves.
- Radio communication through air will provide high capacity connectivity to devices at sea. Modern mobile communication standards will be used as far as possible.
- Acoustic communication will be used for underwater devices. Modems will be available for connecting temporary deployments, e.g. for testing of new underwater sensors.
- The e-infrastructure will provide data management for OceanLab, including acquisition, storage and general analytics. For large scale storage and computing, connection to external services will be established.
- Different levels of data privacy will be supported, with FAIR principles as the default option (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable).
