Practical information
Degrees and courses taught in English
We require all international students to have a good command of English at an academic level and you may need to provide TOEFL/IELTS test scores. Please read NTNU's English requirements thoroughly to see if you are eligible to apply.
Degrees taught in Norwegian
If you wish to enrol in a degree taught in Norwegian, NTNU requires you to be proficient in English as well as Norwegian. Taking a norwegian language course while here is not sufficient to apply for a degree taught in norwegian.
All international students who are not citizens of EU/EEA/EFTA countries must be able to document that they have enough funding to live in Norway in order to be granted a student visa. Read more about documenting financing here.
Tuition fees for non EU/EEA/EFTA
Tuition fees will be charged to international students with citizenship from outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland beginning in the autumn semester of 2023.
NTNU does not offer any scholarships that cover tuition fees.
In Trondheim, the Office of International Relations is responsible for allocating SiT student housing to international students. If you are eligible for student housing, SiT will contact you directly. Not all students are eligible for housing.
