ProbAI gives students a broad AI skill set
The Nordic Probabilistic AI School (ProbAI) returned to Trondheim at NTNU for its annual summer school.
ProbAI operates on an extensive curriculum encompassing various topics within probabilistic AI. Participants delve into subjects such as probabilistic modelling, variational inference, causality and more, equipping themselves with a broad skill set.
We aim to challenge participants with the content and provide experience, featuring interactive coding sessions that foster hands-on learning. Furthermore, ProbAI actively encourages and supports networking opportunities, allowing participants to forge connections with fellow attendees and esteemed speakers.
ProbAI was made possible by the generous support of DeepMind, NorwAI, DNV, Sparebank1, the Norwegian research council, Norwegian OpenAI Lab and NTNU. Their contributions demonstrate a shared commitment to advancing probabilistic AI research and education.
Next: Copenhagen
ProbAI this year hosted its largest event so far, bringing together 160 participants from 46 nationalities. However, the overwhelming demand persists, with almost 700 applicants vying for the limited spots. Therefore, getting a place at ProbAI is as tricky as getting papers accepted in high-ranked conferences.
Looking forward, ProbAI remains dedicated to its core goals of enhancing the program's quality and giving opportunities to participants from underdeveloped countries. As a guiding platform for the AI community, ProbAI will continue facilitating knowledge exchange and shaping the future of probabilistic AI. The summer school will be held in Copenhagen next year.
