WIBCOMM Workshop at PIMRC 2018
The 1st workshop on Wireless Body Communications in Medicine (WIBCOMM) was held during the 29th Annual IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (IEEE PIMRC 2018), which took place in Bologna, Italy, on 9thSeptember 2018. This workshop was jointly organized by the WIBEC project and the COST Action CA15104: Inclusive Radio Communication Networks for 5G and Beyond (http://www.iracon.org/). The workshop aimed at surveying recent advances in wireless communications in the framework of wireless communications at the human body (on-body and in-body) covering aspects such us: simulation, testing, frequency bands, channel model, propagation or the electromagnetic emulation of the human body and others.
WIBCOMM workshop was chaired by Dr. Concepcion Garcia-Pardo and Prof. Narcis Cardona, from the Univeristat Politècnica de Valencia. It consisted in two sessions in which 7 accepted papers were presented. Among them, Martina Barbi (ESR7) and Muhammed Faheem Awan (ESR13) explained their recent achievements in their research topics. Dr. Kamran Sayrafian from National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of USA, and Prof. Kaveh Pahlavan from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute of Massachusetts, USA gave two keynote speeches.
