Norwegian Micro Satellite Symposium 2025

The Norwegian Small Satellite Symposium 2025

This will be the 7th edition of the small satellite symposium, since the start ten years ago in 2015. The forum started targeting the growing interest of maritime surveilane. The last few years, the forum has been held the day before the Space Dinner in Oslo, and the topics are wider. This year, we focus common opertunities for research between industry and academia:

The GEMINI-center for Small Satellites (with NTNU, SINTEF and UiO) together with the Norwegian Space Cluster invite contributions for the 2025 Microsatellite forum. The seminar will be held at Sjølystparket at Skøyen, 10th of February 2025, from 0900. We target 12 – 15 minutes talks. We would like to invite contributions on the following topics:

Current and future space missions and projects: What is currently happening in the Norwegian microsatellite community? What are the most promising research trends regarding earth observation and monitoring for environmental resource management, security, and other types of space exploration?

Enabling technology: Which industrial research and development projects may contribute to flourishing space activity in Norway? What are the industry needs of research and competence building to meet the future demands on space projects – in the short and long term? Highlight how collaboration with research partners?

Space project funding: Collaboration between industry and academia: Which form of collaboration could work, what does not fit? We would like perspectives both from large and small companies. How does the programs for centers, individual funded research projects from EU, Research Council, ESA fit your organization?
