Language is a crucial part of what makes us human. Through language, we can communicate about what has happened, what is happening now and what will happen. Past, present and future. No other animal has the same ability.
In the PhD program in language and linguistics, we research how language is composed, how children learn languages, how people can juggle between several languages, how languages change over time, and how language is used as a communication tool. The program is three years long and consists of a training part of 30 credits and a dissertation of 2.5 years.
