Trondheim Emergency Department Research Group (TEDRG)
The Trondheim Emergency Department Research Group (TEDRG) is a newly established group of researchers from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and clinicians from the Emergency Department at St. Olavs Hospital in Trondheim. It is the first of its kind in Norway, and currently has four main research objectives which overlap and compliment one another:
- predicting and managing patient influx and crowding in the ED
- improving patient management strategies in the ED
- creating new models of emergency medical education for students and staff
- improving staff well-being and the work environment in the ED
Our projects incorporate a ‘healthy heathcare’ perspective which considers the quality of patient care, ED staff health and well-being, as well as the healthcare organization in order to deliver effective, efficient, and high quality services.
TEDRG collaborates with other research groups at NTNU and other hospitals. It is also part of the research group at the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM) and the international network RAMPED (Resource Administration and Management of Patients in the Emergency Department), which focus on reducing patient crowding and improve efficiency and resource utilization in the European emergency departments. We welcome collaboration internationally and nationally and across disciplines.
