LAST-long- Life After Stroke
An effective treatment of stroke requires a comprehensive chain of medical treatment and an interdisciplinary approach. There is still limited knowledge on long-term follow-up for stroke survivors. In LAST-long, we conduct various studies to contribute to increase this knowledge
-
Trajectory analysis after stroke (Work package 2)
By using data from Nor-COAST and MIDNOR-STROKE, we will study how function develops over the first three years after a stroke.
-
Introduction of a pathway* of stroke care in the first 3 months after a stroke (Work package 3)
We want to study the utility of patient pathways procedures for stroke from onset of stroke until 3-month follow-up, by using data from the Norwegian Stroke Registry and other health registers
-
Follow-up by a stroke coordinator 3 to 21 months after stroke (Work package 4)
We want to perform a clinical randomized controlled trial, where we investigate if participants who are followed-up regularly by a stroke coordinator preserve physical and cognitive function better than participants who receive ordinary follow-up by the primary health care system. . -
Costs related to long-term follow-up after stroke (Work package 5)
We will also study the costs associated with the various trajectories after stroke, and whether it is possible to reduce costs by introducing a patient pathway or a stroke coordinator.re ulike studier for å finne ut av dette. .
LAST-long consists of a consortium with 12 partners. The project is financed by the Research Council of Norway and the Joint Research Committee* between St.Olavs Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, NTNU
