The Department of Marine Technology operates the following laboratories:

• Marine cybernetics laboratory
• Circulating water tunnel
• Small towing tank
• Wave flume 
• Marine HIL simulation laboratory (HIL-lab)
• Marine System Dynamics and Vibration Lab (MD Lab)
• Machinery laboratories
• Marine structures laboratory
• Marine electrification research laboratory (MARIT)

We have access to the following laboratories operated by SINTEF Ocean through a collaboration agreement:

• Ocean basin
• Ship towing tank
• Cavitation laboratory
• Marine structures laboratory

In addition, the following facilities external to the Marine Technology Centre are frequently used and partly operated by the department:

• Applied underwater robotics laboratory (AUR-lab)
• Unmanned aerial vehicles laboratory (UAV-lab)
• Aquaculture engineering laboratory (ACE)
• SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture flume tank
