About us
The Department of Modern History and Society has about 30 employees in academic positions and 3 administrative staff. Our research, education and dissemination cover the width of modern history. PhD candidates and post.doc.'s constitute around half of our academic staff.
The department is actively seeking external financing for research and education to promote new perspectives on modern history. Dissemination of knowledge is given to students through research-based education. Dissemination of common knowledge to society is also a prioritized task.
We research historical topics related to economics, politics, sustainability, health, welfare, and demography, among other things. Our research and teaching are guided by society's need of knowledge, as well as the the interests of our staff and students.
We continuously work with different research projects in collaboration with local, national and international partners.
